                                ORDINANCE NO. 9590
                  
                  
                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND PART II, CHATTANOOGA
                   CITY CODE, SECTIONS 2-349, 2-351, 2-352, and
                   2-354 BY RAISING TO FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS
                   ($4,000.00) FROM TWO THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED
                   DOLLARS ($2,500.00) THE AMOUNT OF
                   EXPENDITURES REQUIRED TO MANDATE PUBLIC
                   ADVERTISING AND BIDDING ON PURCHASES AND THE
                   REQUIREMENT OF APPROVAL BY THE CITY COUNCIL
                   AND ALSO AMENDING THE METHOD OF SUCH
                   APPROVAL.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
       CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Part II, Chattanooga City
       Code, Sections 2-349, 2-351, 2-352 and 2-354 be and are hereby
       amended by striking the words and figure "two thousand, five
       hundred dollars ($2,500.00)" wherever the same appear in said
       sections and substituting in lieu thereof the words and figure
       "four thousand dollars ($4,000.00)."
       	    	 SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That Part II,
       Chattanooga City Code, Section 2-351 be further amended by adding 

       the words "or by motion" immediately after the word "resolution"
       in the last sentence thereof.
       	    	 SECTION 3.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this Ordinance
       shall take effect two (2) weeks from and after its passage as
       provided by law.
